This week the annual Texas Hold 'Em tournament took place in the elegant Wharf room at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Hundreds of people including celebs like Aerosmith's Tom Hamilton, Ex Patriot player Tim Fox and renowned poker master Annie Duke, came out to play and raise money for the Children's Hospital. Between the gambling and the hype of the Celt's game that went into overtime during the event (a big screen was rolled into the room:) the tone was certainly competitive and intense. However, the real purpose of the night was clear, and not competitive at all. It was not about poker or basketball but about a group of influential people coming together to support a great cause. It is wonderful to see the immense generosity that can be shown at great events such as this one.
